After the loss of my daughter, Amelia, to suicide on Family Day 2019, I needed to find a way to channel my grief. At the same time I was driven to protect other moms, dads, siblings and friends from this same tremendous pain. My goal is to give families more time together by raising funds in Niagara in support of child and youth mental health. Amelia’s love of all things flannel inspired the name “Project Plaid,” and the mission is simple: Open the conversation to talk about mental health and help remove the stigma surrounding it. Wear plaid on Plaid Friday (the last Friday in November) and buy swag and/or donate to Pathstone in Amelia’s memory.
